The First Year Since Coming Dante at My Home

Friday, July 03, 2009
Today was 3th, July. Even one year ago, Dante came at my home. Before Dante had been called as Helvetica. At first, his name was Newt. The next name was Knute. He has a lot of his names.

Newt -> Knute -> Helvetica -> Bungo -> Pete -> Chibicho -> Dante

Now his name is Dante. In the future, to change from Dante to another different name is never again, perhaps...

His odd-eyes also have been going to be an attractive color but for the matter he has eye mucus at every moment.

Wow Dante is sooo very cute. What a lovely kitty. Sorry to know about his eye mucus problem. Maybe he has a blocked nasolacrimal duct or nose that often causes continual eye discharge and infections in humans.

Hope you have a good week :)

Hi Ailurophile,

Probably what you said is right. It seems that he has a blocked nasolacrimal duct. I have to wipe his tear-filled eyes several times a day, otherwise his tear stains on fur around inner corner of his eye in a little while. But he is cute, nevertheless he is high-maintenance.

When I was a little girl we had a cat called Tosh. He would come if you called him by different names, Vegemite, Hamburger, Toaster...just as long as you had food, he would come no matter what you called him! :)

Hello Missy Ricco,

It's been a while. Have I had a comment from you, haven’t I? Thank you for visiting again.

Dante wouldn’t want any food we’re having because of breeding like that. So I feel a bit lonely.

Hi there,

Just came by again. Hope you are all doing well and get to blog soon.

In humans there is a procedure called dacrocystorhinostomy that takes care of a blocked nasolacrimal duct.

I searched google and found the use of this technique in cats too, here:

Might be a good idea to check this out from the local vet. Here's another article on this condition:

Have a great weekend :)
